Mary Alice Braly

Mary Alice Braly


Mary Alice Braly’s extraordinary humanitarianism has been chiefly related to children’s medical care in Long Beach, where she has resided with her husband Bob for almost 50 years. She has been involved with numerous community groups and served as president for such organizations as the Nightingales junior organization of Children’s Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Center Guild of Long Beach, Memorial Women’s Hospital League, the Pacific Rim Housing Corporation, and the Crippled Children’s Society. In 1998 she was named the Rick Racker’s Woman of the Year. Braly is a member of the class of 1955 where she served as an LBCC song leader and TNT social service club member.

Don Callender


Don Callender is the founder and former owner of Marie Callender’s Restaurant & Bakery chain. He is also the owner of several barbeque restaurants. Callender attended LBCC from1946-47 and was one of the original members of the Junior Exchange social service club.

Dr. Minnie Douglas

Dr. Minnie Douglas


Dr. Minnie Douglas was a member of the second graduating class of the LBCC nursing program in 1962 and went on to teach in that same program until retirement. Douglas has also served as owner and a consultant for Douglas Health Education, a member of the Board of Governors for the LBCC Foundation, a graduate of Leadership Long Beach, a lifetime member of the Long Beach Branch of the NAACP, and the recently appointed President of the Board of Directors of the Arts Council for Long Beach.

Jack Hinsche


Jack Hinsche is a managing partner at Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corporation, the oldest and largest CPA firm in Long Beach. He is a member of the Long Beach Rotary Club, commissioner of the Long Beach Economic Development Commission, and a Board Member for the YMCA of Greater Long Beach. Hinsche is a member of the LBCC class of 1969. His wife Kathy is also an LBCC graduate.
