We would like to recognize the following LBCC Alumnus for his contribution in continuing to make LBCC an outstanding institution:
Matt Kinley
Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce President, Matt Kinley, was awarded the Long Beach City College Distinguished Alumni award by President Eloy Oakley and Alumni Development Director, Jillian Sederholm at the January Foundation Breakfast meeting. Kinley, is a managing partner in the law firm of Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle, which was recently presented with the Small Business of the Year Award for the Western Region by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Kinley, a past Rotary Club President, currently serves as the Chairman of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. He has also served in leadership positions for the Long Beach Commercial Real Estate Council, the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Council, the Long Beach Muscular Dystrophy Association, the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, and the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation Board of Directors.

Tim Jackert
Tim Jackert was awarded the LBCC Alumni Distinguished Alumni Award at the Spring Foundation Breakfast. He was born at Seaside Hospital in LB, attended all local schools including LBCC and CSULB. He played football at LBCC on the 1960 Rose Bowl team. He was hired out of college by the accounting firm, Windes & McClaughry, worked there several years before being hired by Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Since 1985 he has served as Vice President, Finance, for Memorial Medical Center Foundation monitoring investments of over $120 million. The reason he was selected for this award was his involvement with his church, Grace First Presbyterian where he serves as an elder. One of the church activities is Power 4 Youth, a mentoring program. The goal is to help kids do better in school and in life. He has served as a mentor and role model. By encouraging and caring he helped his student graduate from Millikan high school. They still meet every Monday evening for a session of Taiko drumming.
Ken Bott
Ken is an alumnus of LBCC completing his general education requirements prior to continuing on to CSULB. Ken knows firsthand how a good education can change your life. He met his wife in 1995 at LBCC when they were assigned to be lab partners in chemistry class. Ken has been on the LBCC Foundation PCC Vocational Associates Committee since 2001. This is his seventh year serving as president. He has worked for the City of Long Beach for the past 8 years starting out in Civil Service where he first made his connection to this committee. He is currently the Manager of Administration at the Water Department. Ken is involved at his church teaching Sunday School with his wife. He has recently been volunteering with a group that serves the homeless breakfast at the park, along with providing haircuts and clothing among other things. Ken's particular contribution with this group has been repairing bikes.
